🎯 Our why

Our mission

Bringing to light the Italy you won't find in guidebooks: authentic villages, living communities, real stories.

"The most beautiful Italy isn't in its famous cities. It's in the villages nobody has discovered yet."

The problem we want to solve

Every year, millions of tourists visit Rome, Florence and Venice. Every year, thousands of Italian villages continue to lose population, watching their traditions slowly fade. Not because they have nothing to offer — quite the opposite — but because nobody tells their story.

Traditional travel guides ignore towns with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants. Search engines reward already-famous destinations. The result is a two-speed Italy: art cities overwhelmed by tourists, and quiet borghi waiting for someone to notice them.

Our objectives

01

Document the villages

Build a complete, up-to-date map of Italian borghi with data, images and practical information.

02

Tell real stories

Every village has a story. Our mission is to tell it authentically, without a tourist-brochure filter.

03

Bring visitors

Conscious tourism is one of the few resources capable of revitalising the local economies of small villages.

04

Build community

Connect curious travellers, local residents and village enthusiasts in a single community.

Why it matters to us

Italian borghi are the country's most fragile and most precious heritage. They are the result of centuries of history, of adaptation to the land, of artisan and culinary knowledge found nowhere else on earth. When a village empties out, something irreversible is lost.

We cannot single-handedly stop the economic and demographic forces draining small towns. But we can make sure that those who want to discover them can find them easily. We can be the bridge between a curious traveller and a village that deserves to be known.

That is our mission. Simple, concrete, necessary.
