Photos on Villages Italy are our own or sourced from Wikimedia Commons, Pixabay and Flickr under Creative Commons licenses, or are property of their respective owners.
Photo credits and licences, in full transparency
Every image you see on Villages Italy has a story and, above all, an author. We believe that telling the story of Italy’s villages also means respecting the people who photographed those places: that’s why we always acknowledge each photographer and state the licence of every shot.
Most of the photographs come from Wikimedia Commons, the free media library connected to Wikipedia, and are published under Creative Commons licences that allow reuse with attribution. Here you’ll find, region by region, the full credits for every cover image: author, licence type and a link to the original source.

Given the practical difficulty of thanking each author individually, we cite — region by region — the sources where the images can be found. Every photo used was, at the time of use, published under a licence allowing its reuse (Creative Commons or equivalent). If you are the author of an image and would like a credit corrected or its removal, write to us: we will act as quickly as possible.
